Tremblay, Angelo. “Physical fitness in young college men and women.”

Canadian Journal of Applied Physiology 27.6 (2002): 563-74. Print.

This article was an investigation to determine the fitness characteristics of college men and women between the ages of 17-20 of today and compare them to the data of 1981 Canada Fitness Survey. The information provided shows the physical development of college students over the years in a great comparison, showing that their fitness has enhanced. The data provided contributes to my research in showing the development of the average college student physical ability that coincides with the times of today. Revealing the different motivations for fitness, that being from the pressures of a fraternities, magazines, etc.

Pacheco, A. “College students' lifestyles: A comparative study.” Psychology &

             health 24 (2009): 299-300. Print.

This article is a comparison of the different college student lifestyles and how they decide to cope with the difficulties of school, health, etc. This information allows for an inner look into student living and what they have to attribute their efforts to aside from attending the gym. The data contributes to my research for it tells me the different aspects of student living besides the obvious, and shows their individualism as a whole. Thus giving me more insight into the population of the Leach Center and their additional but unpublicized attributions to the place.

Waldron, Jennifer J. “Perspectives of Fitness and Health in College Men and

Women.” Journal of College Student Development 51.1 (2010): 65-78.

             Print.

This article is a collection of student interviews to examine the meaning of physical activity and the practice of health and fitness made by college students. The students discussed the importance of healthy eating and difficulty in doing do, and also attributed working out with physical appearance and attractiveness. The information gave a clear indication of the motivations for college students to want to participate in gym activities – influenced by the media specifically. This study allows for a larger insight into the student population of the Leach and reveals the darkened social aspect to attend.

Students.” Medicine and Science In Sports and Exercise 42 (2010): 612-

             613. Print.

This article provides data explaining the changes in semester schedules that can impact the physical activity of college students. The research delves into the circumstances of students that affect their physical abilities and thus determine their activity in the gym as well. The information from the article contributes greatly to the school and social aspects that affect college students in their health and fitness. It explains further why some students attend the gym or can’t, thus revealing more about the population in a more individual approach.

Adherence and Physical Fitness in College Women.” Journal of Exercise

              Eehabilitation 9.2 (2013): 278-285. Print.

This article explains an experiment in which tested the physical endurance of women college students, one group influenced by an empowered factor for long-term endurance and the other wasn’t. Due to the empowerment influence, the women were more prone to continue working out versus the control group. This information reveals the motivational factors of the population and their coherence to continue in hard physical activity. The research contributes perfectly for it gives more of a women’s perspective in their motivational pursuits to continue in physical activity and shows the opposite of non-motivational influence.

Stritesky, MJ. “Examination Of Lifestyle Choices And Association With Fitness In

College Students.” Medicine and Science In Sports and Exercise 37

              (2005): S48-S48. Print.

This article shows the lifestyle choices of students in their decisions to live they way they want, facing difficulty with prioritizing responsibilities, and fitness. After a survey about alcohol and tobacco use, eating patterns, residency, and work status, it was revealed that the only significant difference was in those who consumed alcohol – having a lower recovery heart rate. The data collected contributes to my research for it does involve the actual influences of alcohol and the affects it has on the body. Thus limiting the physical ability of those who attend the Leach and why their bodies may not reach their physical goals.
